How to Add an Internship to Your Resume (Fresher Examples)
By K. Boopathikumar, CEO & Founder · 10 October 2026 · 4 min read
For a fresher, an internship is often the strongest line on the resume, if it's written well. Recruiters skim, so the goal is to show in two or three lines what you built and that it was real.
The format
- Role, company, location (or Remote), and dates: "Web Development Intern, Training Trains, Erode, Jun-Jul 2026".
- Two to four bullet points, each starting with an action verb.
- One link: your GitHub, a live project, or the certificate verification link.
Weak vs strong bullet points
- Weak: "Learned HTML, CSS and JavaScript."
- Strong: "Built and deployed a responsive appointment-booking site (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL) with form validation and an admin view."
- Weak: "Did a data science internship."
- Strong: "Cleaned and analysed 10,000 sales records in pandas; identified the three products driving 60% of returns."
Make it verifiable
Recruiters trust what they can check. Link your GitHub, and mention that your certificate number can be verified online. Training Trains certificates can be checked on our verification page.
