Abstract

Particl Desktop is an open-source Blockchain & Cloud Computing project. The GUI application for Particl Markeplace and PART coin wallet. A decentralized peer to peer marketplace –free, secure, private, untraceable. The Particl Project – Striving to protect your rights, freedoms, and privacy. It is built using TypeScript, Angular. The complete source code is publicly available on GitHub under the GNU General Public License v2.0, making it a useful reference for students building a Blockchain & Cloud Computing mini project or final-year project.

1. Introduction

The Particl Project – Striving to protect your rights, freedoms, and privacy.

SecureMessaging (SMSG protocol) is a decentralized storage network (DSN) to store and transfer data between nodes in a privacy-preserving manner. It enables a private and secure environment for e-commerce and communications between users. SMSG powers the Particl Marketplace without bloating the blockchain with excessive data and without leaving any permanent record.

The Particl Blockchain is a decentralized, immutable, and censorship-proof ledger. It is based on bitcoin technology and has been carefully enhanced by the Particl team to provide a more robust level of privacy through industry-leading privacy technologies. Its role within the network is the processing and validation of payments between users without requiring any third-party such as a bank or a payment processor.

2. Objective

The GUI application for Particl Markeplace and PART coin wallet. A decentralized peer to peer marketplace –free, secure, private, untraceable.

This project demonstrates how TypeScript, Angular can be applied to a real-world Blockchain & Cloud Computing problem.

4. Technology Stack

TypeScriptAngular

5. System Requirements

General requirements for this technology stack — check the README for exact versions.

  • Node.js (LTS) and npm / yarn / pnpm
  • VS Code or any code editor
  • Git (to clone the repository)

6. Installation & Setup

git clone https://github.com/particl/particl-desktop.git
cd particl-desktop
  1. Download Particl Desktop
  2. Run ng serve to start the dev server and keep it running
  3. In another terminal window, run yarn run startdev -testnet --devtools to start Particl Desktop on testnet (the daemon will be updated and launched automatically)
  4. -testnet – for running on testnet (omit for running the client on mainnet)
  5. -reindex – reindexes the blockchain (in case you're stuck)
  6. --devtools – automatically opens Developer Tools on client launch
git clone https://github.com/particl/particl-desktop
cd particl-desktop
yarn install

Full setup instructions are in the project README.

7. Future Enhancements

Suggested extensions you can add to make this your own project.

  • Add a CI/CD pipeline with GitHub Actions
  • Deploy to a public test network or cloud free tier
  • Add monitoring and cost alerts

8. Viva / Review Questions

Common questions examiners ask for projects in this domain.

  1. Why does this problem need a blockchain or cloud-native design?
  2. Explain the smart contract / infrastructure components and how they interact.
  3. How are gas costs or cloud costs kept under control?
  4. How is the system secured (keys, IAM, access control)?
  5. How would the solution scale to many more users?

9. Source Code & License

This project is developed by particl and published on GitHub under the GNU General Public License v2.0. Please follow the license terms and credit the original author when you use or modify this code.
