Blockchain & Cloud ComputingGoApache-2.0

Abstract

Liqo is an open-source Blockchain & Cloud Computing project. Enable dynamic and seamless Kubernetes multi-cluster topologies. Liqo is an open-source project that enables dynamic and seamless Kubernetes multi-cluster topologies, supporting heterogeneous on-premise, cloud and edge infrastructures. It is built using Go, Kubernetes. The complete source code is publicly available on GitHub under the Apache License 2.0, making it a useful reference for students building a Blockchain & Cloud Computing mini project or final-year project.

2. Objective

Enable dynamic and seamless Kubernetes multi-cluster topologies

This project demonstrates how Go, Kubernetes can be applied to a real-world Blockchain & Cloud Computing problem.

4. Technology Stack

GoKubernetes

5. System Requirements

General requirements for this technology stack — check the README for exact versions.

  • Go 1.20 or later
  • Git (to clone the repository)

6. Installation & Setup

git clone https://github.com/liqotech/liqo.git
cd liqo
  1. Quick Start: grasp a quick overview of what Liqo can do.
  2. Offloading with Policies: discover how to tune namespace offloading, and how to use policies to select which clusters may host each workload.
  3. Offloading a Service: learn how to create a multi-cluster service, and how to consume it from each connected cluster.
  4. Stateful Applications: find out how to deploy a database across a multi-cluster environment, leveraging the Liqo storage fabric.
  5. Global Ingress: discover how route external traffic to multi-cluster applications through a global ingress and automatic DNS configurations.
  6. Replicated Deployments: learn how to deploy an application by replicating it on multiple remote clusters.
  7. Provision with Terraform: explore Liqo Terraform provider capabilities.

Full setup instructions are in the project README.

7. Future Enhancements

Suggested extensions you can add to make this your own project.

  • Add a CI/CD pipeline with GitHub Actions
  • Deploy to a public test network or cloud free tier
  • Add monitoring and cost alerts

8. Viva / Review Questions

Common questions examiners ask for projects in this domain.

  1. Why does this problem need a blockchain or cloud-native design?
  2. Explain the smart contract / infrastructure components and how they interact.
  3. How are gas costs or cloud costs kept under control?
  4. How is the system secured (keys, IAM, access control)?
  5. How would the solution scale to many more users?

9. Source Code & License
