Abstract

Create React Native DAPP is an open-source Blockchain & Cloud Computing project. Your next Ethereum application starts here. ⚛️ 💪 🦄. create-react-native-dapp is an npx utility to help quickly bootstrap React Native applications with access to the Ethereum Blockchain. It is built using TypeScript, React, React Native, Ethereum, Web3. Key capabilities include: Bootstrapped by Expo; Easily take advantage of Expo's high quality, well-supported and well-documented library architecture; Supports Android, iOS and the Web. The complete source code is publicly available on GitHub under the MIT License, making it a useful reference for students building a Blockchain & Cloud Computing mini project or final-year project.

1. Introduction

create-react-native-dapp is an npx utility to help quickly bootstrap React Native applications with access to the Ethereum Blockchain.

Our goal is to help create a sustainable open source ecosystem for Web3 in React Native by providing a dependable common runtime which we can _buidl_ upon and extend together.

This will walk you through the creation of your Ethereum-enabled application, which works on Android, iOS and the Web.

2. Objective

Your next Ethereum application starts here. ⚛️ 💪 🦄

This project demonstrates how TypeScript, React, React Native can be applied to a real-world Blockchain & Cloud Computing problem.

3. Key Features / Modules

  • Bootstrapped by Expo.
  • Easily take advantage of Expo's high quality, well-supported and well-documented library architecture.
  • Supports Android, iOS and the Web.
  • Served with Hardhat.
  • Your generated app comes with a simple example contract which you can deploy, test and interact with directly.
  • Powered by WalletConnect.
  • Connect to secure wallets such as Rainbow out of the box!
  • It's typed, and pretty.
  • It comes pre-configured with TypeScript to help write applications that _scale_.
  • It's integrated with prettier and husky to ensure coding standards are enforced right from the beginning.

4. Technology Stack

5. System Requirements

General requirements for this technology stack — check the README for exact versions.

  • Node.js (LTS) and npm / yarn / pnpm
  • VS Code or any code editor
  • Git (to clone the repository)

6. Installation & Setup

git clone https://github.com/cawfree/create-react-native-dapp.git
cd create-react-native-dapp

Full setup instructions are in the project README.

7. Future Enhancements

Suggested extensions you can add to make this your own project.

  • Add a CI/CD pipeline with GitHub Actions
  • Deploy to a public test network or cloud free tier
  • Add monitoring and cost alerts

8. Viva / Review Questions

Common questions examiners ask for projects in this domain.

  1. Why does this problem need a blockchain or cloud-native design?
  2. Explain the smart contract / infrastructure components and how they interact.
  3. How are gas costs or cloud costs kept under control?
  4. How is the system secured (keys, IAM, access control)?
  5. How would the solution scale to many more users?

9. Source Code & License
