Getting started with Tally Prime

Create a company and find your way around.

📖 Key ideas

  1. The Gateway of Tally is the main menu.
  2. Create a company with name, address, state, financial year and books beginning date.
  3. Alt + K opens the Company menu (create, alter, select).
  4. F11 opens features like GST, inventory and payroll.
  5. Data is saved automatically as you accept each screen (Ctrl + A).
💡 Real-life example: Creating a company in Tally is opening a new set of account books on the first day of business.
