Test automation basics

Automate repetitive tests with frameworks.

📖 Key ideas

  1. Automate stable, repetitive, high-value tests (regression).
  2. Unit frameworks: JUnit, pytest, Jest.
  3. UI automation: Selenium, Playwright, Cypress.
  4. API automation: Postman/Newman, REST Assured.
  5. Run automated tests in CI on every change.
💡 Real-life example: Automation is a washing machine: great for repeated loads, but you still check delicate items by hand.
