Why testing matters
Testing finds defects before users do and builds confidence in software.
📖 Key ideas
- Testing checks that software meets requirements and works reliably.
- Error (human mistake) → defect/bug (in code) → failure (wrong behaviour).
- Early testing is cheaper than fixing bugs in production.
- Testing shows the presence of defects, not their absence.
- Testers think like users and like critics.
💡 Real-life example: Testing is a food taster in a palace kitchen: tasting every dish before it reaches the king.
