Option, Result and error handling

Handle missing values and errors without null or exceptions.

📖 Key ideas

  1. Option<T> is Some(value) or None: no null in Rust.
  2. Result<T, E> is Ok(value) or Err(error).
  3. The ? operator returns early on errors.
  4. unwrap() panics on None/Err; use carefully.
  5. Libraries like anyhow and thiserror simplify errors.
💡 Real-life example: Option is a parcel that may be empty; Result is a delivery note saying "delivered" or "failed, here's why".
OptionSome or None
ResultOk or Err
? operatorPropagates errors
unwrapGets value or panics
