What is OOP?

OOP organises code around objects that combine data and behaviour.

📖 Key ideas

  1. Object-Oriented Programming models real-world things as objects.
  2. An object has state (attributes) and behaviour (methods).
  3. Four pillars: encapsulation, abstraction, inheritance, polymorphism.
  4. Languages: Java, C++, Python, C#, Kotlin.
  5. OOP improves reuse, organisation and maintainability.
💡 Real-life example: OOP is describing a car by what it has (colour, speed) and what it does (start, brake).
