Encryption and TLS
Protect data in transit with cryptography.
📖 Key ideas
- Encryption turns readable data into ciphertext.
- Symmetric (AES) uses one key; asymmetric (RSA, ECC) uses public/private keys.
- TLS secures HTTPS using certificates.
- Certificates are issued by Certificate Authorities.
- Use TLS 1.2+ and disable old protocols.
💡 Real-life example: TLS is a sealed envelope with a verified sender stamp (certificate).
Symmetric encryptionSame key encrypts and decrypts
Asymmetric encryptionPublic/private key pair
