Identity with Microsoft Entra ID

  1. Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) is the cloud identity service.
  2. A tenant represents an organisation.
  3. RBAC assigns roles (Owner, Contributor, Reader) at scopes.
  4. Managed identities let apps access Azure without secrets.
  5. Conditional Access and MFA protect sign-ins.
💡 Real-life example: Entra ID is the company's ID card office; RBAC decides which rooms each card opens.
