Disks and file systems

Manage storage, mounts and space.

📖 Key ideas

  1. df -h shows disk usage; du -sh folder shows folder size.
  2. lsblk lists disks and partitions.
  3. File systems: ext4, xfs, btrfs.
  4. mount attaches file systems; /etc/fstab mounts at boot.
  5. LVM allows flexible resizing of volumes.
💡 Real-life example: Mounting is plugging a new cupboard into the house so its shelves appear in a room.
