Processes and services

Manage running programs and system services.

📖 Key ideas

  1. ps aux and top/htop show processes.
  2. kill PID sends signals; kill -9 forces.
  3. systemd manages services: systemctl start/stop/restart/status nginx.
  4. systemctl enable starts a service at boot.
  5. journalctl -u nginx shows service logs.
💡 Real-life example: systemd is a building manager who starts every shop (service) in the morning and restarts any that close unexpectedly.
