What is IoT?

IoT connects everyday objects to the internet to sense and act.

📖 Key ideas

  1. IoT devices have sensors, a microcontroller, connectivity and power.
  2. Examples: smart meters, fitness bands, smart farms, traffic sensors.
  3. Data flows: device → gateway → cloud → app.
  4. Benefits: automation, monitoring, efficiency.
  5. Challenges: security, power, connectivity, scale.
💡 Real-life example: IoT gives everyday objects eyes (sensors), a voice (internet) and hands (actuators).
