What is Firebase?
Firebase is Google's platform of ready backend services for web and mobile apps.
📖 Key ideas
- Firebase gives auth, databases, storage, hosting, functions and analytics.
- No server to manage: it is a Backend-as-a-Service (BaaS).
- Create a project in the Firebase console.
- Add apps (Web, Android, iOS) and copy the config.
- Install the CLI: npm install -g firebase-tools; firebase login.
💡 Real-life example: Firebase is a fully staffed back office you rent: login desk, filing room, storage and delivery included.
