Testing strategies

Automate testing at every level.

📖 Key ideas

  1. Test pyramid: many unit tests, fewer integration, few end-to-end.
  2. Static analysis and linters catch issues early.
  3. Security testing: SAST, dependency scanning, DAST.
  4. Performance tests check speed under load.
  5. Tests must be reliable and fast to be useful.
💡 Real-life example: The test pyramid is a building: a wide base of unit tests holds up the small top of end-to-end tests.
