Network basics

Networks connect devices so they can share data.

📖 Key ideas

  1. A network links devices (nodes) to share data and resources.
  2. Types: PAN, LAN, MAN, WAN; the internet is the largest WAN.
  3. Topologies: bus, star, ring, mesh.
  4. Devices: switch, router, access point, modem.
  5. Bandwidth and latency describe performance.
💡 Real-life example: A network is a road system connecting houses (devices) so parcels (data) can travel.
