📖 Key ideas

  1. Virtualisation runs many virtual machines on one physical server.
  2. Hypervisors (VMware, KVM, Hyper-V) manage VMs.
  3. Containers (Docker) package apps with dependencies, sharing the host kernel.
  4. Kubernetes orchestrates containers at scale.
  5. Containers start faster and use fewer resources than VMs.
💡 Real-life example: VMs are separate houses; containers are flats in one building sharing the foundation.
