Getting started with HTML
What tags are, and the skeleton every page needs.
HTML describes what each part of a page is: this is a heading, this is a link, this is a list. A browser reads that and displays it. You only need a text editor and a browser to begin.
Save this as index.html and double-click the file.

<!doctype html>
<html lang="en">
<head>
<meta charset="utf-8">
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1">
<title>My first page</title>
</head>
<body>
<h1>Hello, Erode!</h1>
<p>This is my first web page.</p>
</body>
</html>- The head holds information about the page. The title appears on the browser tab and in Google results.
- The body holds what visitors see.
- Most tags come in pairs, such as <p> and </p>. A few, such as <img>, stand alone.
