Abstract
Cloud Io T Core Kit Examples is an open-source Internet of Things (IoT) project. Example projects and code are supplied to support the Arm-based IoT Kit for Cloud IoT Core. It is built using Python, Raspberry Pi. The complete source code is publicly available on GitHub under the Apache License 2.0, making it a useful reference for students building an Internet of Things (IoT) mini project or final-year project.
1. Introduction
Example projects and code are supplied to support the Arm-based IoT Kit for Cloud IoT Core
2. Objective
Example projects and code are supplied to support the Arm-based IoT Kit for Cloud IoT Core
This project demonstrates how Python, Raspberry Pi can be applied to a real-world Internet of Things (IoT) problem.
4. Technology Stack
5. System Requirements
General requirements for this technology stack — check the README for exact versions.
- Python 3.8 or later
- pip / virtualenv for dependencies
- VS Code, PyCharm or Jupyter Notebook
- Git (to clone the repository)
6. Installation & Setup
git clone https://github.com/ARM-software/Cloud-IoT-Core-Kit-Examples.git
cd Cloud-IoT-Core-Kit-Examples- Create a Cloud Platform project and enable the Cloud IoT Core API using these "Before you begin" directions.
- Create a new registry using the gcloud command.
- Create a public/private key pair(s) for your device(s) and create a new device(s) in your project and registry. Or, stretch goal, register one programmatically with these code samples.
- Create a new pubsub subscription to an event
- Download the CA root certificates from pki.google.com into the same directory as the example script you want to use:

region=us-central1
registry=example-registry
device=my-rs256-device

--public-key path=rsa_cert.pem,type=rs256Full setup instructions are in the project README.
7. Future Enhancements
Suggested extensions you can add to make this your own project.
- Add a mobile dashboard using Blynk or Firebase
- Store readings in a cloud database for history charts
- Add alerts via SMS / Telegram when thresholds are crossed
8. Viva / Review Questions
Common questions examiners ask for projects in this domain.
- Which microcontroller / board and sensors are used and why?
- How does the device send data (Wi-Fi, MQTT, HTTP, Bluetooth)?
- Where is the sensor data stored and visualised?
- How is power consumption managed?
- How would you secure the device and its communication?
9. Source Code & License
This project is developed by ARM-software and published on GitHub under the Apache License 2.0. Please follow the license terms and credit the original author when you use or modify this code.
