Abstract

Blynk Library is an open-source Internet of Things (IoT) project. Blynk library for IoT boards. Works with Arduino, ESP32, ESP8266, Raspberry Pi, Particle, etc. It is built using C++, Arduino, ESP8266, ESP32, Raspberry Pi. The complete source code is publicly available on GitHub under the MIT License, making it a useful reference for students building an Internet of Things (IoT) mini project or final-year project.

1. Introduction

Blynk library for IoT boards. Works with Arduino, ESP32, ESP8266, Raspberry Pi, Particle, etc.

2. Objective

Blynk library for IoT boards. Works with Arduino, ESP32, ESP8266, Raspberry Pi, Particle, etc.

This project demonstrates how C++, Arduino, ESP8266 can be applied to a real-world Internet of Things (IoT) problem.

  • With Blynk Library you can connect over 400 hardware models (including ESP8266, ESP32, NodeMCU, all Arduinos, Raspberry Pi, Particle, Texas Instruments, etc.) to the Blynk Cloud.
  • With Blynk apps for iOS and Android apps you can easily drag-n-drop graphic interfaces for any DIY or commercial project. It's a pure WYSIWG experience: no coding on iOS or Android required.

5. System Requirements

General requirements for this technology stack — check the README for exact versions.

  • Arduino IDE / PlatformIO or a C++ compiler (g++)
  • Target board (e.g. Arduino, ESP32) where applicable
  • Git (to clone the repository)

6. Installation & Setup

git clone https://github.com/Blynk-Technologies/blynk-library.git
cd blynk-library

  3. Download the Blynk app (App Store, Google Play)
  4. Get the Auth Token from the app
  5. Import this library to Arduino IDE. Guide here
  6. In Arduino IDE, select File -> Examples -> Blynk -> Boards_Ethernet -> Arduino_Ethernet
  7. Update Auth Token in the sketch and upload it to Arduino
  8. Connect your Arduino with Ethernet shield to the internet

Full setup instructions are in the project README.

7. Future Enhancements

Suggested extensions you can add to make this your own project.

  • Add a mobile dashboard using Blynk or Firebase
  • Store readings in a cloud database for history charts
  • Add alerts via SMS / Telegram when thresholds are crossed

8. Viva / Review Questions

Common questions examiners ask for projects in this domain.

  1. Which microcontroller / board and sensors are used and why?
  2. How does the device send data (Wi-Fi, MQTT, HTTP, Bluetooth)?
  3. Where is the sensor data stored and visualised?
  4. How is power consumption managed?
  5. How would you secure the device and its communication?

9. Source Code & License
