Abstract

Job Portal MERN Stack is an open-source Full Stack Web Development project. Using Restful web services, React JS, NodeJS MySQL, Kafka, NoSQL database MongoDB we have successfully created a prototype of LinkedIn. It is built using JavaScript, React, Node.js, Redux, MySQL. The complete source code is publicly available on GitHub under the Apache License 2.0, making it a useful reference for students building a Full Stack Web Development mini project or final-year project.

1. Introduction

Using Restful web services, React JS, NodeJS MySQL, Kafka, NoSQL database MongoDB we have successfully created a prototype of LinkedIn. Our application consists of two main type of users: Applicant and Recruiter.

Applicant has various functionalities such as Search and Apply for a Job, Messaging, Networking with people i.e. ability to connect with other people (implemented using GraphDB) and view and edit profile. Recruiter has various functionalities such as Posting a Job, Messaging, Networking with people i.e. ability to connect with other people (implemented using GraphDB) and view and edit profile.

2. Objective

Using Restful web services, React JS, NodeJS MySQL, Kafka, NoSQL database MongoDB we have successfully created a prototype of LinkedIn.

This project demonstrates how JavaScript, React, Node.js can be applied to a real-world Full Stack Web Development problem.
