Aliucord is an open-source Mobile App Development project. A mod for the Discord Android App. It is built using Kotlin, Android, Java. Key capabilities include: Rootless; Based on the Legacy Android Discord app that utilizes real views rather than React Native; Robust plugin system (280+ plugins). The complete source code is publicly available on GitHub under the Open Software License 3.0, making it a useful reference for students building a Mobile App Development mini project or final-year project.

This project demonstrates how Kotlin, Android, Java can be applied to a real-world Mobile App Development problem.

  • Android Studio (latest)
  • JDK 17
  • Android device or emulator
  • JDK 11 or later
  • Maven / Gradle
  • IntelliJ IDEA, Eclipse or Android Studio
  • Git (to clone the repository)

6. Installation & Setup

git clone https://github.com/Aliucord/Aliucord.git
cd Aliucord
  1. Download and install the latest Aliucord Manager app (separate repository)
  2. Select an APK asset from the release such as aliucord-manager-v...apk
  3. Open the APK and install it once downloaded
  4. If you have not enabled "Install from unknown sources" for your browser via system settings, do so now.
  5. Open Aliucord Manager
  6. Grant storage & app installation permission requests
  7. Other installation methods such as Shizuku, Dhizuku, and Root are also supported.
  8. Click "New Install", or "Update" if you have previously installed Aliucord.

Suggested extensions you can add to make this your own project.

  • Add push notifications with Firebase Cloud Messaging
  • Add offline support with local caching
  • Publish an internal test build on the Play Store
