Abstract
Privacy Notes App is an open-source Cybersecurity & Ethical Hacking project. End-to-end encrypted notes, tasks, files, passwords, journal and bookmarks. Keyed by a 12-word BIP-39 phrase: no email, no password, no account to leak. The full client source for web, desktop and mobile is published, along with the encryption (XChaCha20-Poly1305, HKDF-SHA256, Ed25519) and the threat model, so the privacy claims are falsifiable. Your 12-word phrase is your identity and your key. No email, no password, no account to leak. It is built using TypeScript. The complete source code is publicly available on GitHub under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0, making it a useful reference for students building a Cybersecurity & Ethical Hacking mini project or final-year project.
1. Introduction
Your 12-word phrase is your identity and your key. No email, no password, no account to leak.
Signed apps for macOS, Windows, Linux, Android and iOS, or run it in the browser.
This screenshot is a link. It opens the live demo in your browser: no account, nothing saved, the real app with the real encryption.
2. Objective
This project demonstrates how TypeScript can be applied to a real-world Cybersecurity & Ethical Hacking problem.

8. Viva / Review Questions
Common questions examiners ask for projects in this domain.
- Which threat or attack does this project defend against?
- What detection or protection technique is used and what are its limits?
- How are false positives and false negatives handled?
- Which cryptographic algorithms or security standards are involved?
- What legal and ethical rules apply when testing a tool like this?
