Abstract

Binaryalert is an open-source Cybersecurity & Ethical Hacking project. BinaryAlert: Serverless, Real-time & Retroactive Malware Detection. It is built using Python, Serverless, Terraform, AWS. The complete source code is publicly available on GitHub under the Apache License 2.0, making it a useful reference for students building a Cybersecurity & Ethical Hacking mini project or final-year project.

1. Introduction

BinaryAlert is an open-source serverless AWS pipeline where any file uploaded to an S3 bucket is immediately scanned with a configurable set of YARA _ rules. An alert will fire as soon as any match is found, giving an incident response team the ability to quickly contain the threat before it spreads.

2. Objective

BinaryAlert: Serverless, Real-time & Retroactive Malware Detection.

This project demonstrates how Python, Serverless, Terraform can be applied to a real-world Cybersecurity & Ethical Hacking problem.
