Abstract
Scaffold Eth 2 is an open-source Blockchain & Cloud Computing project. Open source forkable Ethereum dev stack. An open-source, up-to-date toolkit for building decentralized applications (dapps) on the Ethereum blockchain. It's designed to make it easier for developers to create and deploy smart contracts and build user interfaces that interact with those contracts. It is built using TypeScript, Ethereum, Hardhat, Next.js, Solidity. The complete source code is publicly available on GitHub under the MIT License, making it a useful reference for students building a Blockchain & Cloud Computing mini project or final-year project.
1. Introduction
An open-source, up-to-date toolkit for building decentralized applications (dapps) on the Ethereum blockchain. It's designed to make it easier for developers to create and deploy smart contracts and build user interfaces that interact with those contracts.
This command will install all the necessary packages and dependencies, so it might take a while.
This command starts a local Ethereum network that runs on your local machine and can be used for testing and development. Learn how to customize your network configuration.
2. Objective
Open source forkable Ethereum dev stack
This project demonstrates how TypeScript, Ethereum, Hardhat can be applied to a real-world Blockchain & Cloud Computing problem.
4. Technology Stack
5. System Requirements
General requirements for this technology stack — check the README for exact versions.
- Node.js (LTS) and npm / yarn / pnpm
- VS Code or any code editor
- Node.js and npm
- Hardhat / Truffle / Remix IDE
- MetaMask wallet with a test network
- Git (to clone the repository)
6. Installation & Setup
git clone https://github.com/scaffold-eth/scaffold-eth-2.git
cd scaffold-eth-2- Install the latest version of Scaffold-ETH 2
- Run a local network in the first terminal:
- On a second terminal, deploy the test contract:
- On a third terminal, start your NextJS app:
- Edit your smart contracts
- Edit your deployment scripts
- Customize your frontend
- Edit the app config
npx create-eth@latestyarn chainyarn deployyarn startFull setup instructions are in the project README.
7. Future Enhancements
Suggested extensions you can add to make this your own project.
- Add a CI/CD pipeline with GitHub Actions
- Deploy to a public test network or cloud free tier
- Add monitoring and cost alerts
8. Viva / Review Questions
Common questions examiners ask for projects in this domain.
- Why does this problem need a blockchain or cloud-native design?
- Explain the smart contract / infrastructure components and how they interact.
- How are gas costs or cloud costs kept under control?
- How is the system secured (keys, IAM, access control)?
- How would the solution scale to many more users?
9. Source Code & License
