Abstract
Lwevt is an open-source Full Stack Web Development project. Lightweight event management system for embedded systems. LwEVT is a simple event manager for embedded systems. Its main purpose is to be able to send various events in the application from various modules. It is built using C. Key capabilities include: Written in C (C11), compatible with stdint.h data types; Platform independent, no architecture specific code; Flexible for application defined event types and associated data. The complete source code is publicly available on GitHub under the MIT License, making it a useful reference for students building a Full Stack Web Development mini project or final-year project.
1. Introduction
LwEVT is a simple event manager for embedded systems. Its main purpose is to be able to send various events in the application from various modules. Application defines custom types with optional data structure to be sent to various application listeners.
2. Objective
Lightweight event management system for embedded systems
This project demonstrates how C can be applied to a real-world Full Stack Web Development problem.
3. Key Features / Modules
- Written in C (C11), compatible with stdint.h data types
- Platform independent, no architecture specific code
- Flexible for application defined event types and associated data
- Dispatches an event to all registered listener callbacks, with a configurable maximum listener count
- Prevents registering the same listener callback twice
- Supports multiple independent event handles, not limited to a single default handle
- Easy to use and maintain
- User friendly MIT license
4. Technology Stack
5. System Requirements
General requirements for this technology stack — check the README for exact versions.
- Arduino IDE / PlatformIO or a C compiler (gcc)
- Target board where applicable
- Git (to clone the repository)
6. Installation & Setup
git clone https://github.com/MaJerle/lwevt.git
cd lwevtFull setup instructions are in the project README.
7. Future Enhancements
Suggested extensions you can add to make this your own project.
- Add role-based access control
- Deploy on a VPS or cPanel hosting with a custom domain
- Add automated tests and a CI pipeline
8. Viva / Review Questions
Common questions examiners ask for projects in this domain.
- Explain the frontend, backend and database layers of this application.
- How is user authentication and authorisation implemented?
- Describe the main database tables / collections and their relationships.
- Which REST APIs or routes are exposed and what do they return?
- How would you deploy this application to production?
