Abstract

Better Fullstack is an open-source Full Stack Web Development project. Scaffold production-ready full-stack apps in TypeScript, Rust, Python, Go, and Java with a visual builder and CLI. Choose your frontend, backend, database, auth, AI, payments, and DevOps integrations, all wired together.                                    . It is built using TypeScript, Rust, Go, Python, React. The complete source code is publicly available on GitHub under the MIT License, making it a useful reference for students building a Full Stack Web Development mini project or final-year project.

1. Introduction

Scaffold fullstack projects from a catalog of Stack Parts. Use the CLI, the Stack Builder in your browser, or an MCP server for AI agents.

The Stack Builder runs in your browser and hands you the command to copy, or a ZIP download: Open the App Builder →

2. Objective

Scaffold production-ready full-stack apps in TypeScript, Rust, Python, Go, and Java with a visual builder and CLI. Choose your frontend, backend, database, auth, AI, payments, and DevOps integrations, all wired together.

This project demonstrates how TypeScript, Rust, Go can be applied to a real-world Full Stack Web Development problem.

4. Technology Stack

TypeScriptRustGoPythonReact
  • Mix languages in one project. Multi-Ecosystem mode composes frontend, backend, database, and mobile parts from different languages, like a TypeScript frontend with a Go backend.
  • Build without installing anything. The Stack Builder runs in the browser and downloads your project as a ZIP. No Node.js and no terminal required.
  • Validated before files are written. The CLI and the builder share one compatibility engine, so invalid combinations are rejected or adjusted before any file is written.
  • Recorded in bts.jsonc. Every project stores its configuration in bts.jsonc and bts.lock.json, so add, update, and check can extend and repair what was generated later.

5. System Requirements

General requirements for this technology stack — check the README for exact versions.

  • Node.js (LTS) and npm / yarn / pnpm
  • VS Code or any code editor
  • Rust toolchain (rustup / cargo)
  • Go 1.20 or later
  • Python 3.8 or later
  • pip / virtualenv for dependencies
  • Git (to clone the repository)

7. Future Enhancements

Suggested extensions you can add to make this your own project.

  • Add role-based access control
  • Deploy on a VPS or cPanel hosting with a custom domain
  • Add automated tests and a CI pipeline

8. Viva / Review Questions

Common questions examiners ask for projects in this domain.

  1. Explain the frontend, backend and database layers of this application.
  2. How is user authentication and authorisation implemented?
  3. Describe the main database tables / collections and their relationships.
  4. Which REST APIs or routes are exposed and what do they return?
  5. How would you deploy this application to production?
