Abstract

Flashdim is an open-source Mobile App Development project. Modern flashlight app with dim functionality on Android 13+. Join the FlashDim Matrix room to talk with the community about the app or to ask me (the dev) anything: https://matrix.to/#/#flashdim:matrix.org. It is built using Kotlin, Android. Key capabilities include: dimming your flashlight level by level; shortcut buttons for different brightness levels; SOS flash button. The complete source code is publicly available on GitHub under the Apache License 2.0, making it a useful reference for students building a Mobile App Development mini project or final-year project.

Join the FlashDim Matrix room to talk with the community about the app or to ask me (the dev) anything: https://matrix.to/#/#flashdim:matrix.org

Starting with Android 13, it's possible to control multiple brightness levels of the flashlight. To be able to use this new feature I've developed this app.
