Abstract

Filament Breezy is an open-source Cybersecurity & Ethical Hacking project. Filament plugin for customizable profile page, two factor authentication & Sanctum token management. Enhanced security features for Filament (v4) Panels. Includes a customizable My Profile page with personal info & avatar support, update password, two factor authentication, passkey authentication and Sanctum token management. It is built using PHP. The complete source code is publicly available on GitHub under the MIT License, making it a useful reference for students building a Cybersecurity & Ethical Hacking mini project or final-year project.

1. Introduction

Enhanced security features for Filament (v4) Panels. Includes a customizable My Profile page with personal info & avatar support, update password, two factor authentication, passkey authentication and Sanctum token management. Installs in minutes!

2. Objective

Filament plugin for customizable profile page, two factor authentication & Sanctum token management.

This project demonstrates how PHP can be applied to a real-world Cybersecurity & Ethical Hacking problem.

4. Technology Stack

PHP
  • Create a new Livewire component in your project using:
  • Extend the MyProfileComponent class included with Breezy. This class implements Actions and Forms.
  • Within your Livewire component's view, you can use Filament's Blade component to match the style:
  • Finally, register your new component with Breezy:

5. System Requirements

General requirements for this technology stack — check the README for exact versions.

  • PHP 7.4+ with a web server (XAMPP / WAMP / LAMP)
  • MySQL / MariaDB
  • phpMyAdmin (optional)
  • Git (to clone the repository)

6. Installation & Setup

git clone https://github.com/Jacobtims/filament-breezy.git
cd filament-breezy
  1. Install the package via composer and install
  2. Add Breezy to your Filament Panel
  3. Integrate Tailwind classes
  4. Optionally, you can publish the views
composer require jeffgreco13/filament-breezy
php artisan breezy:install
use Jeffgreco13\FilamentBreezy\BreezyCore;

public function panel(Panel $panel): Panel
{
    return $panel
        ->plugins([
            BreezyCore::make()
        ])
}
@source '../../../../vendor/jeffgreco13/filament-breezy/resources/**/*';
php artisan vendor:publish --tag="filament-breezy-views"

Full setup instructions are in the project README.

7. Future Enhancements

Suggested extensions you can add to make this your own project.

  • Add logging and alert notifications (email / Telegram)
  • Write a threat model document for the tool
  • Package it with Docker for safe lab testing

8. Viva / Review Questions

Common questions examiners ask for projects in this domain.

  1. Which threat or attack does this project defend against?
  2. What detection or protection technique is used and what are its limits?
  3. How are false positives and false negatives handled?
  4. Which cryptographic algorithms or security standards are involved?
  5. What legal and ethical rules apply when testing a tool like this?

9. Source Code & License
