Architect your project with Framed: effortless files and directories management

Blockchain & Cloud ComputingGoMIT

Abstract

Framed is an open-source Blockchain & Cloud Computing project. Architect your project with Framed: effortless files and directories management. Framed is a CLI tool that simplifies the organization and management of files and directories in a reusable and architectural manner. It provides YAML templates for defining project structures and enables workflows based on those. It is built using Go. Key capabilities include: YAML Templates: Framed uses YAML templates to define the entire project structure; Always in Sync: Framed provides a built-in test command that can be used in CI/CD pipelines to verify the project structure and ensure that it is always in sync with the YAML template; Consistency Across Projects: Framed offers a consistent way of organizing files and directories across different projects. The complete source code is publicly available on GitHub under the MIT License, making it a useful reference for students building a Blockchain & Cloud Computing mini project or final-year project.

1. Introduction

Framed is a CLI tool that simplifies the organization and management of files and directories in a reusable and architectural manner. It provides YAML templates for defining project structures and enables workflows based on those.

2. Objective

Architect your project with Framed: effortless files and directories management

This project demonstrates how Go can be applied to a real-world Blockchain & Cloud Computing problem.

3. Key Features / Modules

  • YAML Templates: Framed uses YAML templates to define the entire project structure.
  • Always in Sync: Framed provides a built-in test command that can be used in CI/CD pipelines to verify the project structure and ensure that it is always in sync with the YAML template.
  • Consistency Across Projects: Framed offers a consistent way of organizing files and directories across different projects.

4. Technology Stack

Go

5. System Requirements

General requirements for this technology stack — check the README for exact versions.

  • Go 1.20 or later
  • Git (to clone the repository)

6. Installation & Setup

git clone https://github.com/mactat/framed.git
cd framed
  1. Open a terminal and run the following command:
  2. Download the framed-darwin-amd64-.tar.gz package from release page.
  3. Extract the package by double-clicking on the downloaded file or using a tool like tar in your terminal:
  4. This will extract the framed binary.
  5. Open a terminal and navigate to the extracted directory:
  6. Make the binary executable by running the following command:
  7. Move the framed binary to a directory in your system's PATH so that it can be accessed from anywhere. For example:
  8. You can now use the framed command to execute the application.
brew tap mactat/mactat
   brew install framed
tar -xzf framed-darwin-amd64-<version>.tar.gz
cd framed-darwin-amd64-<version>
chmod +x framed

Full setup instructions are in the project README.

7. Future Enhancements

Suggested extensions you can add to make this your own project.

  • Add a CI/CD pipeline with GitHub Actions
  • Deploy to a public test network or cloud free tier
  • Add monitoring and cost alerts

8. Viva / Review Questions

Common questions examiners ask for projects in this domain.

  1. Why does this problem need a blockchain or cloud-native design?
  2. Explain the smart contract / infrastructure components and how they interact.
  3. How are gas costs or cloud costs kept under control?
  4. How is the system secured (keys, IAM, access control)?
  5. How would the solution scale to many more users?

9. Source Code & License
