Abstract

Claudia is an open-source Blockchain & Cloud Computing project. Deploy Node.js projects to AWS Lambda and API Gateway easily. Claudia makes it easy to deploy Node.js projects to AWS Lambda and API Gateway. It automates all the error-prone deployment and configuration tasks, and sets everything up the way JavaScript developers expect out of the box. It is built using JavaScript, AWS Lambda, AWS, Serverless, Node.js. The complete source code is publicly available on GitHub under the MIT License, making it a useful reference for students building a Blockchain & Cloud Computing mini project or final-year project.

1. Introduction

Claudia makes it easy to deploy Node.js projects to AWS Lambda and API Gateway. It automates all the error-prone deployment and configuration tasks, and sets everything up the way JavaScript developers expect out of the box. This means that you can get started with Lambda and API Gateway easily, and focus on solving important business problems instead of dealing with AWS deployment workflows. Check out this video to see how to create and deploy a microservice in under 5 minutes.

With the help of Claudia builder projects, you can also use API Gateway as if it were a lightweight javascript web server, or create and deploy chat bots for various platforms easily.

2. Objective

Deploy Node.js projects to AWS Lambda and API Gateway easily

This project demonstrates how JavaScript, AWS Lambda, AWS can be applied to a real-world Blockchain & Cloud Computing problem.

4. Technology Stack

5. System Requirements

General requirements for this technology stack — check the README for exact versions.

  • Node.js (LTS) and npm
  • A modern web browser
  • VS Code or any code editor
  • Git (to clone the repository)

6. Installation & Setup

git clone https://github.com/claudiajs/claudia.git
cd claudia
  1. Read the Getting started guide for information on setting up credentials and a walk-through of a simple hello-world example.
  2. Check out the guide for Customising Deployments for information on how to configure what gets sent to Lambda and how it gets used
  3. Check out Command Line Usage for details about all the command line options.

Full setup instructions are in the project README.

7. Future Enhancements

Suggested extensions you can add to make this your own project.

  • Add a CI/CD pipeline with GitHub Actions
  • Deploy to a public test network or cloud free tier
  • Add monitoring and cost alerts

8. Viva / Review Questions

Common questions examiners ask for projects in this domain.

  1. Why does this problem need a blockchain or cloud-native design?
  2. Explain the smart contract / infrastructure components and how they interact.
  3. How are gas costs or cloud costs kept under control?
  4. How is the system secured (keys, IAM, access control)?
  5. How would the solution scale to many more users?

9. Source Code & License
